Rebalancing and what-ifs
Rebalance an account
Open an account and choose Rebalance. The optimizer compares holdings with the account's model and proposes trades:
- holdings drifting less than the model's tolerance are left alone;
- sales come first; lots with losses and the smallest gains are sold first (or first-in first-out, if the account uses FIFO);
- with a cap on realized gains, sales are cut to stay under it;
- buys are funded by cash above the cash target and by sale proceeds, after estimated costs;
- every trade is pre-checked against compliance, and cut or dropped if it would fail.
The proposal lists every trade, the lots it sells, the estimated cost and gain, and weights before and after. Create orders turns it into orders.
What-ifs
On Portfolio Center › What-if, type a change such as *Trim tech exposure 5% without realizing gains over $10k*. Vestoris shows the parameters it understood; confirm them to see the proposal.
