Trade blotter

Above the Trade blotter is a command bar for actions on many orders at once. The filter box inside the blotter still filters in plain English; the command bar can filter too, and it can act. Paper trading only.

What you can ask

  • Cancel: "Cancel all my unfilled AAPL buys". Cancelling cannot be undone, so it always needs a typed confirmation.
  • Release approved orders to the simulator: "Release everything approved for the Equity desk with VWAP in 4 slices".
  • Change the algo of working orders: "Move the VWAP orders for the Growth accounts to TWAP". The shares not yet filled are re-planned.
  • Amend the limit or quantity: "Lower the limit of my MSFT orders by 0.5%". Each amendment is checked by compliance first; the preview says which would fail or get a warning.
  • Allocate executed orders (Operations): "Allocate the filled orders from today".
  • Assign orders to a trader or a desk, and add notes: "Assign the NVDA orders to Taylor Brooks"; "Note on order 5301: waiting for the client call".
  • Filter, sort, group, export: "Show my partially filled tech buys over $100k", "Sort by slippage", "Group by symbol", "Export today's orders" (export needs the export privilege).

Orders are picked with the blotter's own filter (side, status, symbols, sectors, accounts, algo, size, % filled, today, flagged, your orders, user-defined fields) plus order numbers, account groups and desks - always among the orders you can see.

How it works

The plan is a list of typed actions (never code). The preview lists every order with its state before and after, the orders left out and why (for example "only approved orders can be released"), and the consequences ("compliance is checked again when each order is released"). Confirm to run; more than 10 orders, any cancel, or a total above the firm's approval threshold needs a typed confirmation. Each order goes through the order service, which checks your permissions on every account and compliance again; the result of each order is shown. If the blotter changed after the preview, nothing runs and you get a new preview.

A Viewer can filter, sort and group, but not act. Everything is in the event log and the AI log.
